How To Adopt An Oklahoma Boxer

We are so glad you are considering adopting a boxer from Red Dirt Boxer Rescue. We have great dogs looking for great homes. We try to make the process as painless as possible.

 Here is how it works:

RDBR receives your application. Our adoption committee carefully reviews your application. We will first call and talk to you. Make sure adopting a boxer is the right fit for you and your family. We then call your vet and personal references. We will then set up a time to do a home visit. We do this not to judge you, just to make sure the boxers are going to a safe place. They are great escape artists, we will show you areas, we know they can get out of.

Once these step are complete, we have you call the foster home of the dog you are interested in. You will set up an appointment to meet the dog. Please bring the whole family, including your other dog, if you have one. Let everyone meet, see if it is love at first sight. If it isn't, we set it up to meet another dog. You can set several appointments for the same day. We want you to walk in and go OMG this is my dog, this is the dog I have always wanted!

Never settle.

This is a commitment for years to come. We all have personalities, so do our dogs. They must mesh for everyone to be happy.

When you meet the dog of your dreams, we sign a contract and you take your new family member home. In a perfect world. This would all happen in an instant. Unfortunately all of us here have to keep our day jobs to continue to do this. Please understand that we have jobs/children/sports/dogs/and many other commitments we have to work on every day. We all try as hard as we can to complete this process as fast as we can.

Typically, it takes about a week from beginning to end. On a good week, it is done much faster. The faster we move the more dogs we save. If you have submitted your application and have not heard anything from us in 48 hours, please call or email. Sometimes these newfangled computers have glitches and eat our applications.
