Ruger
1 year old Male
Ruger is a beautiful, one year old, male, German Shepherd. Ruger has had a pretty rough start in life. He has had both his front legs broken. Ruger is on the mend but he has a ways to go. Ruger will need a special home that can help him continue his recovery. Ruger is a sweet boy who is very smart. Ruger he has done very well with training. He stays in the crate at night in his foster mom’s bedroom. He only sleeps in the crate because he and the female GS think 2 am is the best playtime ever! He needs a secure fence because he will tests its boundaries if he is left outside alone. Ruger is TERRIFIED of men. He will need a home with a mom and if there is a dad, he will need to be a special dad with lots of patience. Ruger’s foster dad says it is like the movie 50 first dates. Ruger will come to him and snuggle at night but in the morning he has to convince him again that he won’t hurt him. Ruger does well with other dogs but needs someone that can match him in his play level. He doesn’t quite get how big he is. Ruger also tends to guard his food. A submissive dogs is the best friend for him. He is getting better at knowing he will always be fed but still has the tendency to hoard his food just in case. Ruger is going to need a very special family. Although he likes little kids, a home without a young child would be best, because he is easily startled. He needs someone with experience and patience.
